It’s got to be the shaggy dog story of the year – except it’s true bill.
Lettings agents is seems are being urged to summons some festive cheer and encourage landlord clients to become more pet-friendly.
The National Approved Letting Scheme is urging agents to back Lets with Pets, the campaign launched by canine charity Dogs Trust to help pet owners find accommodation within the private rented sector.
Interestingly a survey by Dogs Trust showed that more landlords are prepared to accept pets than agents actually realise.
Mind you, one animal-loving landlord who opened his doors expecting the odd pampered pooch found himself with applications from geckos, bearded dragons and snakes – and that was just the tenants.
But with pet owners making up 43% of the UK population landlords would be barking to ignore them.
